The SeaLand AFS (Advanced Fuel Systems – formerly known as IFCS) produces Oxy-Hydrogen gas on-demand to assist in the combustion of gasoline or diesel fuels in internal combustion engines.  The Oxy-Hydrogen is introduced into the intake air stream then drawn into the combustion chamber. Once ignition occurs, the very high flame speed of the Oxy-Hydrogen ignites nearly all of the gasoline or diesel within the chamber.  The resulting increases in power and fuel economy, as well as marked reductions in exhaust emissions, are the result of more of the fossil fuel being productively combusted. The AFS system conforms to ABYC Marine Standards. The system incorporate features exclusive to SeaLand that monitor, control and report parameters that are essential to the systems efficient and safe operation. SeaLand is committed to safety; the AFS has multiple safeguards to insure that no hydrogen is produced unless the engine is actually running and safety valves to prevent pressure buildup in the unlikely event a hose got pinched or crushed.

The quality of Oxy-Hydrogen gas is another area where SeaLand excels above current competitive technologies. The AFS process insures that only clean and dry Oxy-Hydrogen gas enters the engine.  The AFS system uses a series of separator tanks and water bubblers/scrubbers to insure all vapors and KOH is removed prior to reaching the engine.

The AFS is a scalable system to accommodate various engine sizes. Currently there are three models in production phases:

AFS-T™ - for land-based engines

AFS-M™ - for marine installations

AFS-P™ - portable units
